The Pasco Aquatic Center will open to the public in June, marking the completion of a $40 million project that has been years in the making. The facility features both indoor and outdoor sections, with the indoor area staffed by lifeguards year-round. Construction crews are currently installing key features throughout the center, including water slides and finishing touches in party rooms and universal changing rooms.

"Summer is almost here, and the Pasco Aquatic Center was approved by voters. And we're going to be opening it up in June," said Matt Watkins, facilities director for the Pasco Public Facilities District. Watkins said crews have made significant progress on the facility's signature features, including water slides that extend outside the building. "I was out earlier this week, and slides are actually going in. So I got to stand 30 feet above the ground where two slides go outside the building and then curlicue around to come back in," Watkins said.
Interior work is also nearing completion, with amenities being installed throughout the facility. The Pasco Public Facilities District says it looks forward to opening the aquatic center and providing families with a new place to gather and create memories. The facility will serve the growing Tri-Cities region and represents a significant investment in recreational infrastructure for the area.
